Our Building Georgia training series provides flexible, industry-driven courses designed to meet workforce needs across Georgia’s growing industries.

Key Components of the Curriculum

NCCER Introduction to Basic Construction Skills Credential

Basic Safety

OSHA regulations, hazard recognition, and PPE.

Math and Tools

Introduction to construction math, hand tools, and power tools.

Technical Skills

Material handling, basic rigging, and reading construction drawings.

Employability

Communication and job-readiness skills

Classes will take place at Atlanta Tech and Gwinnett Tech Campuses and will average six to eight weeks.

Thursday: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Fridays and Saturdays: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

This course is designed for individuals 18 years or older who are interested in starting a career in the highway construction industry. Participants have the opportunity to earn NCCER Certification, which includes OSHA 10, CPR, and Flagger certifications.

The program also highlights clear career pathways into Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), welding, and heavy equipment operation, helping participants explore multiple opportunities within the construction and transportation sectors.
